Nepal registers second straight win defeating Malaysia by 5 wickets




Nepal has registered second consecutive win in a row after defeating host Malaysia by five wickets in the ongoing ACC Premier League 2014 held at Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia on Friday.
Nepal chased the target of 150 runs in 37.3 overs with the loss of five wickets as Mahaboob Alam made a half-century scoring 53 runs while Sarad Vesawkar contributed 29 runs. Gyanendra Malla and Binod Bhandari scored 13 runs each.
In the first inning, Malaysia was restricted just to 149 runs in 43 overs of the allotted 50 overs. Sompal Kami shined in today’s match as he alone grabbed five wickets while Basanta Regmi took two wickets for Nepal.
Anwar Arudin made highest 34 runs, Shafiq Sharif 24 runs and Suharril Fetri 22 runs for host Malaysia.
Nepal had made a flying start after defeating UAE by four wickets in its inaugural match of the ACC Premier League held at the Selangor Turf Club in Malaysia on Thursday.
Nepal will play against Oman in its third match of the tournament on Sunday, Hong Kong on Monday and Afghanistan on Wednesday.
So far, Nepal is at the top of the chart after second consecutive win, followed by Oman, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, UAE and Malaysia.
